About the Author – Matthew C. Gartner
Matthew Gartner was born in 1971 in Kelowna, BC, Canada, and was raised in rural Winfield (now called Lake Country), just north of Kelowna.
He grew up amongst a forest of pine and spruce trees that overlooked the Okanagan Valley’s orchards and lakes, and whose fragrance evoked the freedom and beauty God gave His precious creations.
Matthew left this beauty behind in search of glory and after wandering for decades in our broken world, God led him to the treasure that is priceless (Matthew 13:44).
You will not find theological accreditations listed after his name, nor would his writings have been possible if he had them, for it is evident that should he have credentials to his credit, they would be based upon the approval of those who maintain the status quo in modern Christianity, for no man is approved by men, nor employed as a church leader, without agreeing with them.
As a result, Matthew believes that writings based upon the approval of the Christian establishment will never question the biblical validity of what has come to be practiced over the past 2000 years, because there is simply too much to lose.
And therefore, he believes that to question, we must abandon the preconceptions of what has historical credence, and instead focus on the plain evidence of scripture, and on understanding the evolution of Christianity throughout the course of history.
God stripped Matthew of all that he had believed in and valued (Philippians 3:8-10) to expose his wretchedness, spiritual poverty, blindness, and nakedness (Revelation 3:17-18), to reveal the greater things of God which he had been missing and which the churches seemingly abandoned centuries ago.
Matthew never aspired to be a writer. It was God who moved him to put aside his life to speak and live the truth that has brought him the loss of family, fellow churchgoers, friends, and things of the world, so that he might gain Christ (Philippians 3:8-10).
